Pharmacist

About the Role

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company in Ghana, is seeking a proactive Pharmacist to work onsite in Accra, Kumasi, or Takoradi. This role involves dispensing prescribed medicines, providing expert advice, and ensuring optimal pharmaceutical care across various community settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense pharmaceutical and medical products based on doctors' prescriptions to clients.
• Critically assess prescriptions for correctness and appropriateness for patients.
• Offer detailed guidance on medication usage, potential side effects, dosage, and storage to customers.
• Assist clients by interpreting symptoms, providing immediate advice, or referring them to appropriate medical professionals if needed.
• Deliver pharmaceutical counseling on drug interactions and safe medication use.
• Monitor therapy regimens to prevent adverse effects from drug combinations.
• Interpret physicians' instructions and help resolve any therapeutic conflicts.
• Advise management on essential stock items categorized by pharmacological classes.
• Stay updated on trends in retail pharmacy to continually enhance pharmacy practices.
• Contribute entrepreneurial ideas and business strategies to maintain the pharmacy’s competitive edge.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Pharm D, or M Pharm.
• Membership with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana and a valid practicing license as a Pharmacist.
• At least three years of experience in a comparable pharmacist role.
• Current residence in Accra, Kumasi, or Takoradi is required.
