Job Overview
Cara Allcare Pharmacy is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to become a key member of our expanding Care Home Pharmacy Team based in Dún Laoghaire. This role presents a great chance for a dedicated pharmacy professional eager to work in a dynamic healthcare setting, contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient support and medication services.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process prescriptions and medication requests, preparing items for pharmacist review while adhering to safety and pharmacy procedural standards.
- Oversee designated care home accounts, ensuring timely and high-caliber service is maintained.
- Develop and sustain strong professional connections with pharmacists, general practitioners, nurses, care home personnel, and other healthcare providers to facilitate optimal patient care and medication oversight.
- Utilize pharmacy dispensing technology such as McLernons, MPS, or similar software to promote efficient dispensing operations and precise data recording.
- Keep meticulous and confidential patient, prescription, and medication documentation in compliance with regulatory demands.
- Support inventory management tasks, including stock control, medication tracking, use of automated dispensing equipment, and monitoring expiry dates to maintain operational integrity and safety.
- Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures, pharmacy legislation, and healthcare guidelines within a regulated environment.
- Assist with daily dispensary functions by prioritizing tasks effectively and providing collaborative support to colleagues.
- Exhibit excellent organizational, communication, and time-management capabilities working autonomously and as part of a team.
- Address medication management queries promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and inspection-ready pharmacy setting aligned with operational and compliance criteria.
Additional Information
- Work schedule is full-time, 40 hours per week, onsite in Dún Laoghaire.
- Annual salary is €37,550.
