About the Role
Join The Peninsula Chicago, a luxury Five-Star Five-Diamond hotel located on Michigan Avenue, as a People & Culture Coordinator. This position supports the People & Culture team in achieving company goals and ensures smooth HR operations within a diverse, multi-outlet environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the People & Culture department.
- Manage new employee onboarding processes including HRIS system setup, organizing employee files, and verifying I9 documentation.
- Maintain data accuracy by performing regular data entry, auditing documents, distributing materials, and ensuring employee adherence to handbook policies.
- Act as the central contact for employee questions, offering clear guidance on company policies, programs, and procedural matters.
- Prepare and evaluate People & Culture reports like headcount, turnover rates, and compliance tracking.
- Organize all associate-related event functions and celebrations.
- Keep accurate records of employee anniversary dates and birthdays.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professional communication, especially over the phone.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with diverse staff levels.
- Solid expertise in administrative software suites including MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Outgoing, detail-focused, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for interactions with employees, management, and guests.
