Job description

Company Overview

OrthoAI is developing AI-powered decision intelligence tailored for dentistry workflows. The company is focused on transforming multimodal clinical data into structured, explainable support solutions to streamline high-friction authorization processes. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, OrthoAI aims to serve the UAE and the broader GCC while embedding clinical validity, traceability, and user safety into its products right from inception.

Role Overview

This leadership role involves taking full ownership of OrthoAI's pioneering payer-provider relationships in the UAE, spanning from initial discovery to pilot collaborations, procurement, evidence evaluation, contract conversion, and business expansion. The objective is to develop a commercially viable approach centered on tangible authorization workflow improvements rather than generic AI promises, while also strengthening provider alliances to enhance the payer value proposition.

Success Milestones

  • Within 60 days: Create an account map with detailed discovery insights on payer-provider and TPA workflows, decision makers, data limitations, value assumptions, and disqualifying factors.
  • Within 120 days: Establish qualified pathways for design partnerships and co-develop pilot charters outlining baselines, metrics for success, roles, safeguards, and exit conditions.
  • Within 8 months: Progress approved pilots through procurement, contracting, privacy/security evaluations, implementation, user adoption, and data collection.
  • Within 12 months: Translate validated pilot outcomes into paid contract expansions or formal no-go decisions and establish a repeatable sales model for UAE payers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee a robust pipeline of UAE payer-provider/TPA prospects, enforcing rigorous stage gates and maintaining accurate CRM records.
  • Identify and engage stakeholders across executives, utilization management, clinical review, operations, data, security, procurement, finance, and legal sectors.
  • Conduct discovery activities to quantify workflow bottlenecks, decision inconsistencies, economics, data feasibility, and barriers to adoption.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Clinical, Technology, Quality, Finance, and Legal teams to design measurable pilot projects.
  • Manage account plans, forecasting accuracy, procurement navigation, pilot conversions, and expansion strategies.
  • Channel commercial insights into shaping product features, integrations, marketing claims, packaging, pricing, and prioritization.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in business, healthcare, life sciences, engineering, or related disciplines, or equivalent enterprise-commercial experience. An MBA is advantageous but not essential.
  • At least eight years in enterprise healthcare sectors including payers, TPAs, medtech, health IT, or clinical software commercial roles.
  • Minimum three years of experience managing partnerships or sales within the UAE or GCC healthcare ecosystem.
  • Proven track record in managing complex deals from discovery to pilot, contracting, and revenue realization.
  • Experience in forecasting multi-stakeholder deals and maintaining CRM discipline through long sales cycles.
  • Proficient knowledge of healthcare procurement, security/data review, contractual negotiations, implementation dependencies, and senior executive engagement.
  • Demonstrable access to UAE payer/TPA or related healthcare decision networks.

Preferred Attributes

  • Understanding of dental benefits, prior authorization, claims processing, utilization management, fraud/waste/abuse controls, or revenue cycle workflows.
  • Experience marketing AI decision support solutions emphasizing careful claims, human supervision, and evidence-based validation.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English; prior early-stage commercial involvement in UAE/GCC markets is a plus.

Desirable Evidence

  • Existing payer account and decision-maker mapping with clear qualification criteria.
  • Pilot charters clarifying workflow value, clinical/model safeguards, data needs, economics, and termination clauses.
  • Analysis of unsuccessful deal or pilot attempts with reasons, changes implemented, and subsequent outcomes.

Organizational Culture & Values

  • Clear ownership for outcomes with defined roles and accountability.
  • Judgement based on demonstrable success and logical evidence rather than title or status.
  • Rigorous documentation of decisions, learnings, root causes, and corrective measures.
  • Interdisciplinary evidence integration across clinical, scientific, engineering, commercial, and operations.
  • Commitment to human accountability where AI augments rather than replaces decision making.
  • Values emphasize truthfulness, ownership, evidence prioritization, patient safety, and fast yet rigorous feedback loops.

What We Offer

  • A founding-stage leadership opportunity with direct impact on a critical company outcome.
  • Close partnership with the CEO and founding team members across clinical, scientific, engineering, and commercial domains.
  • Substantial influence on standards, hiring, system design, and product roadmaps within your domain.
  • Work involving authentic healthcare workflows governed by strict data oversight.
  • Competitive and above-market salary, significant Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) equity, and comprehensive benefits package, details provided to shortlisted candidates.

Selection Process

  • Initial screening based on CV and evidence relevant to role outcomes.
  • Structured interviews to evaluate past decisions, results, and learning experiences.
  • Paid, practical working session simulating a real OrthoAI challenge.
  • Final values alignment interview and reference checks.

Location and Eligibility

This is a full-time position requiring onsite presence in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Abu Dhabi or state the support needed for authorization. Eligibility will be assessed relative to role requirements.
