About Aotearoa Infinite Academy
Aotearoa Infinite Academy represents New Zealand's inaugural tuition-free online high school, dedicated to providing accessible, world-class education to students in Years 9 through 13 throughout Aotearoa. The academy integrates international curricula (Pearson Edexcel pre-IGCSE and IGCSE) alongside national standards (NCEA Levels 2 and 3) through a flexible virtual learning model that emphasizes student wellbeing, a sense of belonging, and tailored support.
Opportunity Overview
We invite educators to teach dynamic Photography courses via live virtual classrooms, catering to Year 9-12 students. Instruction covers Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA Levels 2 to 3 programmes. This role is fully remote, allowing work from any location within New Zealand, fostering a nurturing and connected educational community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging live online lessons in Art Photography.
- Create tailored learning experiences to meet individual student needs.
- Establish trustful relationships with students through the virtual platform.
- Collaborate effectively with an accomplished team of innovative educators.
- Facilitate student progress using differentiated instructional strategies.
- Deliver meaningful formative assessments providing quality feedback, feed-forward, and summative evaluations aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Contribute positively to the curriculum team's development and operational success.
- Develop strong partnerships with parents and caregivers, providing detailed reporting to support student learning.
Requirements
- Hold current New Zealand Teaching Registration.
- Possess teaching qualifications in Visual Arts coupled with subject matter expertise.
- Demonstrate robust familiarity with the NCEA Visual Arts Curriculum specifically at Levels 2 and 3.
- Exhibit excellent communication capabilities alongside proficiency with digital technologies.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience teaching IGCSE courses.
- Background in online or blended learning environments.
- Knowledge of educational technology tools and AI platforms.
