Role Summary
Doha English Speaking School (DESS), a respected not-for-profit institution in Doha known for its exceptional academic reputation and diverse student body, is seeking a part-time licensed nurse to temporarily cover a maternity leave position. Working on Sundays and Mondays from 7:10 AM to 2:15 PM, this role is integral to supporting the school's commitment to health and safety within an educational environment.
About the School
DESS is highly acclaimed, having earned an Outstanding rating from PENTA International in March 2023 and consistently achieving excellent evaluations across all areas of the British Schools Overseas inspection. The school embraces a vibrant international community with 45 nationalities represented, primarily British, and fosters a collaborative and joyful learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
The nurse will provide healthcare support to students and staff, ensuring medical needs are met during school days. Duties include managing minor illnesses and injuries, maintaining health records, and collaborating with educational and administrative staff to promote a safe school environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold a valid nursing license issued by the Ministry of Public Health (MPH) of Qatar.
- Fluency in English at a native level is mandatory for effective communication.
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly preferred.
- Applicants must have their nursing degree and academic transcripts notarized and endorsed by the Qatari Embassy in their country of origin, followed by authentication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar.
Additional Conditions
- Applicants will undergo interviews in June 2026; candidates residing in Doha can attend in person, whereas international candidates may interview via video call.
- Shortlisted candidates may be observed in practical settings as part of the selection process.
- There is a thorough safeguarding process including enhanced background checks, International Child Protection Certificate or local equivalent, police clearance for any residency longer than ten years, and verification of identity and legal name change documents if applicable.
- Verbal reference checks will be completed.
