Operator - Full-Time / Part-Time

Job Overview

This role involves operating ground support equipment at the airport, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of freight. You will be responsible for managing equipment condition, adhering to strict safety protocols, and contributing to timely freight processing within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate all assigned ground servicing equipment responsibly.
• Report any equipment faults or performance issues promptly.
• Stay current with equipment updates, operational procedures, and safety policies.
• Comply with all airport operational procedures.
• Handle packages frequently, lifting weights up to 60 lbs repeatedly.
• Sort freight based on customer and destination criteria accurately.
• Communicate package counts and details effectively to supervisors and team leads.
• Maintain equipment regarding condition, fueling, and operational readiness.
• Participate in handling tasks involving dangerous goods and freight acceptance.
• Conduct general housekeeping and maintain a clean work environment.
• Meet strict deadlines as part of collaborative team efforts.
• Complete mandatory training programs including WHMIS, SMS, and Hazard Prevention.
• Adhere to all safety and security guidelines stringently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Successful completion of operator training with continuous compliance.
• Possession of a valid Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP).
• Valid driver’s license with proficient driving skills in all weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift packages weighing up to 60 lbs repeatedly.
• Strong teamwork orientation and capability to meet time-sensitive goals.
• Reliable punctuality and excellent attendance record.
• Quick learner with adaptability to fast-changing environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.
• Basic literacy and organizational skills.
