Position Overview
Colorado TU is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily activities and logistics that support our mission for river conservation. The role involves collaboration with an external bookkeeping service, managing databases and systems, coordinating event logistics, and supporting communications and fundraising efforts. Candidates with a degree or relevant experience in business or nonprofit operations, who thrive in close-knit team environments and have a passion for conservation, are encouraged to apply. This role offers opportunities for advancement into an Associate Executive Director position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer relationship management (CRM) systems and processes, including data imports, donor data entry, automation setup, and support for team members in utilizing CRM data for fundraising, volunteer coordination, and communication efforts. (CRM system used: Bloomerang)
- Oversee financial operations by maintaining and coordinating financial records with contracted bookkeeping services and the Finance Committee.
- Provide operational and logistical assistance for core events such as Rendezvous, Gala, and Troutfest Colorado.
- Coordinate donor communications and automation workflows associated with renewal letters, tax receipts, thank-you messages, year-end mailings, and online donation campaigns.
- Serve as the primary contact for incoming inquiries from chapters and external parties via office and website channels.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance systems and processes related to operations for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Strong organizational capabilities with keen attention to detail.
- Possession of a college degree and/or equivalent hands-on experience with nonprofit or business operations.
- Proficiency or familiarity with database management and basic bookkeeping practices; prior experience with Bloomerang CRM and QuickBooks is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a small team and engage effectively with volunteers.
- Committed to conservation values and able to travel within Colorado up to 10% of the time.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional evenings and weekends.
Additional Information
- The role is primarily office-based in Denver, Colorado with some potential for hybrid work from locations within the state that allow convenient travel to the Front Range and other chapters.
- Reports to the Executive Director.
