Online Teacher - Junior High Math 7

Position Overview

Join a progressive global educational team as an Online Teacher specializing in Junior High Math Level 7. This role involves delivering engaging, live virtual classes focused on foundational math topics such as ratios, proportions, integers, and introductory algebra to motivated middle school students globally. Utilizing advanced technology and curriculum tools, you will enhance student confidence and learning outcomes in a supportive virtual classroom environment.

Class Schedule

• Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:00 PM PST
• Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:00 PM PST

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement dynamic and tailored live lessons for diverse international students in Junior High Math 7.
• Incorporate a variety of teaching techniques and digital resources to foster interactivity and support within the online classroom.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing regular constructive feedback and adapting instructional methods to optimize learning success.
• Develop and communicate detailed course outlines, including lesson plans and assessment schedules.
• Conduct professional and interactive sessions leveraging the academy's online educational technologies.
• Assign meaningful homework and assessments, offering actionable feedback to promote student development.
• Create and contribute educational content such as tests and exams to the academy’s resource collection.
• Efficiently manage the online classroom environment through Canvas, ensuring assignments and assessments are organized and accessible for students.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of teaching experience in middle or junior high school (grades 6 to 8) within a formal educational institution. Private tutoring experience does not fulfill this requirement.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher specializing in Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Excellent communication skills for effective engagement with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Experience with online teaching platforms and enthusiasm for innovative technology-enhanced instruction.
• Familiarity with US middle school or junior high curriculum and suitable pedagogical methods for this age group.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a formal teaching certification, such as a postgraduate education certificate, teaching degree, or valid teaching license.
• Previous experience teaching in an online format.
