Job Overview
Small World Online English School is recruiting part-time online English teachers who can provide lessons for children and adults from their homes. Operating 24/7 across seven days a week, this platform allows you to teach English at times convenient to you.
About Us
Small World is an online English conversation school primarily staffed by Japanese bilingual instructors. Our lessons cater to a broad demographic including children and adults with a focus on conversational English and Eiken test preparation, welcoming teachers from diverse backgrounds such as freelancers, working professionals, international families, returnees, homemakers, and those wishing to utilize their study abroad experience.
Work Details and Conditions
- Teaching English and preparing students for English proficiency tests like Eiken.
- Approximately 60% of lessons focus on elementary and middle school students, while 40% cover general English conversation.
- Each class lasts 25 minutes.
- Teachers set their own lesson fees within company guidelines. The average tutor earnings per hour are 2,155 yen (excluding new instructors) as of 2025.
- Teachers receive payment only when students book and attend their lessons; there is no assigned student base.
- Instruction content is flexible but candidates must be able to teach elementary to middle school level students.
- Preference is given to candidates with experience in Eiken test preparation or those who are returnees themselves.
