Role Overview
The Tech Solutions Specialist role is central to delivering a complete customer service experience. You will help customers choose the right product or service, demonstrate products live, provide advice and support, and complete delivery and installation work.
This position is best suited to someone who enjoys technology, puts customers first, communicates clearly, and can solve problems quickly. A proactive mindset, strong work ethic, and a practical “get it done” approach are important.
Working Arrangement
This role is based at the Whangarei Noel Leeming store in Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand. The roster runs from Sunday to Thursday, and the role is 45 hours per week.
Key Tasks
- Provide end-to-end support for customers across product selection, setup, advice, and after-sales service.
- Carry out live product demonstrations and explain solutions clearly to customers.
- Deliver and install customer purchases as required.
- Troubleshoot issues and help customers resolve technical problems.
- Work as a field-based specialist using company vehicles when needed.
Requirements
Because this is a field-based position, you must hold a full clean New Zealand driver licence and be able to drive a company vehicle. You also need to be legally allowed to work in New Zealand without restrictions for at least 24 months.
The role may involve heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and remaining on your feet for long periods.
Experience with installing and setting up technology such as WiFi, TVs, PCs, and audio systems is preferred, though training can be provided to the right person.
Prior customer-facing experience, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude are also expected.
Additional useful knowledge includes Apple OS/iOS, IT support in school, enterprise, or SME environments, device management, and software tools such as Jamf, Google Admin, or Microsoft Admin.
