Occupational Therapist - Rotational - Internal Position

About the Role and Organization

This rotational Occupational Therapist position is exclusively open to current employees of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The Health Board serves a population of approximately 650,000 and employs over 16,000 staff, providing integrated acute, primary, and community healthcare with a strong commitment to service development, quality standards, and continual professional growth.

The rotation includes clinical exposure across Adult and Older Adult Mental Health, Community Reablement, Children and Young People’s Services, Acute Medicine, Surgery and Trauma Orthopaedics, Stroke Care and Rehabilitation, General and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Community Neurology, Continuing Healthcare, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and Learning Disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Engage in rotations through diverse clinical areas as part of the Occupational Therapy Practitioner program.
• Receive regular supervision and mentoring from experienced specialist staff to support skill development.
• Participate in the preceptorship program designed for newly qualified staff.
• Attend annual appraisals and pursue continuous professional development opportunities.
• Contribute to the evolving occupational therapy service aimed at meeting patient needs effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Experience through diverse placement settings to ensure broad-based practical knowledge.
• Understanding and application of professional ethics in clinical practice.
• Familiarity with occupational therapy outcome measures.
• Ability to travel within the geographical area and work flexible hours as required.

• The salary for a Band 3 Occupational Therapist will be updated in August 2026 following the NHS Agenda for Change pay award, backdated to April 2026 where applicable.
