Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Waitematā Brewery in Ōtāhuhu, Auckland. This full-time position involves rotating shift work and focuses on maintaining brewing and utility equipment to ensure consistent, safe, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and preventive maintenance on brewing and utility machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to reduce downtime.
  • Maintain and inspect utility assets across the site.
  • Service hygienic process valves, actuators, seals, and associated brewery components.
  • Collaborate with operators and maintenance teams to uphold plant reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement and adopt maintenance best practices.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, quality, food safety, and environmental standards.
  • Work rotating shifts including both morning and evening shifts.
  • Participate in an on-call roster after full training and competency assessment.
  • Support critical maintenance tasks and brewery shutdown operations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess a Mechanical Trade Certificate or New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical), with a preference for Fitter & Turner qualification.
  • Have at least 5 years of maintenance experience within food, beverage, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in fault finding and problem solving.
  • Adopt a proactive and safety-focused working attitude.
  • Be a cooperative team player thriving in fast-paced environments.
  • Available and flexible to work rotating shift patterns.
