Mechanical Engineer - Utilities (Fixed Term Contract)

Job Overview

In this role, you will oversee the comprehensive utility shift operations including management of gas supplies, compressed air, HVAC systems for various facility areas (machines, offices, cleanrooms, server rooms), and fire safety systems such as alarms and fire protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of utilities such as LPG, Nitrogen, CO2, and Hydrogen yards.
• Create and implement preventive maintenance schedules and calibrate instrumentation regularly.
• Ensure tracking and adherence to legal registers and compliance requirements.
• Supervise utility operations performed by GSH contract personnel.
• Prepare and maintain ISO standard documentation.
• Conduct energy audits and apply energy control strategies to optimize usage.
• Monitor and manage departmental objectives for efficiency and compliance.
• Maintain critical spares and promote continuous improvement through Kaizen practices, 5S methodology, and root cause analysis.
• Capably handle shift operations in a manufacturing environment.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• Background in utility operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD for reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience with maintenance of pumps, compressors, chillers, AHUs, and gas yard equipment.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements and ISO documentation processes.
• 3 to 5 years of experience with a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Eligibility

Applicants holding a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering are eligible to apply.
