About the Role
Join AECOM, a leading global infrastructure consulting firm committed to delivering impactful engineering solutions that enhance communities worldwide. Our team in Dublin is expanding, and we're looking for a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to work on diverse projects spanning commercial, healthcare, education, residential, industrial, and public infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical building systems such as HVAC, domestic water, drainage, public health, and low-carbon energy solutions.
- Create engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and design documentation to support projects.
- Utilize industry-standard mechanical design software and BIM tools, including Revit, to develop effective designs.
- Support project delivery from initial concept and feasibility stages through detailed design, construction, and handover.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, structural, architectural, and specialist teams to integrate designs.
- Attend meetings with clients, design teams, and site personnel as necessary.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable regulations, sustainability targets, and industry best practices.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges, proposing efficient engineering solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior and graduate engineers within the team.
- Deliver projects adhering to quality standards, budget constraints, and schedules.
- Contribute to the advancement of sustainable and energy-efficient building services strategies tailored to client and project goals.
Candidate Profile
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in building services consultancy, working on mechanical design across various project sectors.
- Familiarity with Irish and UK building regulations and mechanical building design standards.
- Proficiency in mechanical design software and BIM platforms, with a strong emphasis on Revit.
- Understanding of HVAC, public health systems, low-carbon, and sustainable building services technologies.
- Excellent communication and client engagement skills with an ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude focused on innovative and practical engineering approaches.
- Committed to ongoing professional development and working towards or possessing Chartered Engineer status with relevant professional bodies.
