Company Overview
The iconic Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2), a renowned ocean liner turned floating hotel and lifestyle venue, embraces its distinguished British maritime heritage. The QE2 offers 447 unique rooms alongside exceptional dining experiences, serving an international clientele with elevated hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
The Marketing Assistant supports various administrative tasks including managing supplier quotations related to print materials, overseeing purchase requisitions, gathering press clippings to create a press archive, and maintaining databases for media contacts, suppliers, and event companies. Additionally, they manage the hotel’s photo library and ensure meticulous manual and electronic filing systems.
On social media front, the role involves responding to inquiries on social channels, supporting content generation with the Marketing Manager, tracking weekly social media performance, and maintaining a database of key influencers linked to hotel accommodations and dining experiences.
Financial responsibilities include ensuring timely payments to suppliers, assisting in the preparation and management of the department budget, monitoring ongoing costs against the budget, and contributing to the hotel’s strategic and marketing plans.
Ensuring guest service excellence, the assistant communicates media or VIP stays and reviews to relevant departments, accommodating special guest requirements.
Marketing and communications duties comprise aiding the Marketing Manager in crafting and executing PR and advertising strategies, liaising with advertising agencies and designers for collateral production, supporting photo shoot organization, monitoring UAE market competitor activities and Food & Beverage trends, and developing an organized filing system for this information.
The assistant also serves as a key liaison between the hotel and agencies to build awareness through press releases and marketing materials, maintains updated press kits and media contacts, assists with publicity efforts enhancing the hotel’s image, and helps to create sales promotions with external partners.
They are responsible for keeping the hotel’s website and third-party online travel agency pages current, ensuring policy and brand standards compliance across all marketing materials and e-commerce efforts.
Additional Duties
The role demands maintaining strong interdepartmental relationships, punctuality, adherence to uniform and appearance standards, delivering courteous professional service, and flexibility to undertake reasonable duties including redeployment if business needs require. Participation in training and meetings, along with situation assessment and responsive action, are also expected.
Qualifications
- At least two years of professional experience in marketing, digital media, or a related field.
- Experience within luxury hotel environments is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
