About the Role
Join a leading global airport as a pivotal member ensuring seamless and secure IT systems that underpin passenger journeys, baggage handling, and airfield services operate flawlessly around the clock. This role takes direct responsibility for the availability, security, and optimal performance of vital airport IT infrastructure, significantly influencing operational safety and passenger satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the 24/7 support and maintenance of critical airport IT systems including Airport Operational Database (AODB), Baggage Handling System (BHS), and operational platforms.
- Take full accountability for incident management and resolution.
- Ensure system stability, availability, and rapid recovery with direct impact on live airport activities.
- Personally manage and lead major incident responses ensuring swift end-to-end resolution.
- Operate effectively under high-pressure conditions during operational disruptions, independently managing critical situations.
- Drive root cause analysis efforts and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
- Supervise and develop a dedicated team of engineers and support staff supporting 24/7 operations.
- Facilitate strong internal IT collaboration and foster a high-performance support culture.
- Oversee live system operations and manage ongoing projects including system upgrades, such as AMS, ensuring seamless transition from project to business-as-usual (BAU).
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system functionality and reliability.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience specializing in airport IT systems, particularly with AODB and BHS expertise.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams within a continuous 24/7 operational framework.
- Hands-on ownership of incident and problem management processes, capable of independently handling critical operational incidents.
- Experienced in collaborative internal IT team environments rather than solely vendor-driven roles.
- Proven background working in large-scale airport operational settings with complex IT demands.
- Familiar with cyber security protocols and IT operational procedures.
- Ability to adeptly manage significant operational complexities and scale.
- Thrives in a dynamic, high-pressure, fast-paced environment with ongoing multiple priorities.
- Comfortable managing persistent workloads and navigating competing demands efficiently.
