Role Overview

The Manager of Employee Leave & ADA Accommodations Support oversees a specialist team responsible for exemplary service delivery related to employee leaves and reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position is central to ensuring a smooth, compliant, and supportive experience for employees at L'Oréal USA and SalonCentric, working closely with various internal and external partners including HR, Payroll, Legal, and vendor services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Senior Specialists and Specialists focused on leave and ADA accommodations support.
  • Establish performance standards, conduct one-on-one meetings, and execute formal evaluations to promote accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Manage workload distribution to maintain service level consistency and operational balance.
  • Function as the point of escalation for complex or sensitive employee leave and accommodation cases.
  • Oversee comprehensive administration of leave programs, including Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Parental Leaves, Workers' Compensation, FMLA, and Military Leaves.
  • Collaborate with leave vendors to ensure accurate program execution and reconciliation, particularly for STD and LTD schemes.
  • Supervise the waiver of premium and death claim processing for LTD cases with accuracy and sensitivity.
  • Direct the full ADA accommodation process, ensuring compliance with ADA and relevant state laws while facilitating effective accommodation solutions that benefit employee productivity.
  • Coordinate with HR and legal teams on policy interpretation, compliance, and handling of escalated issues.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of ADA regulations and training for HR and management on processes and compliance.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of advancing experience in HR operations, with specific expertise in leave management and ADA accommodations.
  • Minimum two years of people leadership experience demonstrating successful team development and engagement.
  • Strong understanding of various leave programs and related compliance frameworks.
  • Deep familiarity with ADA interactive processes and administering reasonable accommodations.
  • Proven ability managing vendor services aligned with SLAs.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities and effective communication skills.
  • Experienced in handling sensitive employee issues with discretion and empathy.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities in dynamic settings.
  • Physical requirement includes primarily sedentary work with a mandatory in-office presence adhering to hybrid policies.
