Role purpose

This position supports the Director of Engineering and the Maintenance Supervisor in keeping the hotel’s buildings, plant, equipment, fixtures, and assets in safe, efficient, and guest-ready condition. A key part of the role is ensuring refrigeration and air-conditioning systems are maintained safely and in line with the applicable regulations.

Core duties

• Check, diagnose, repair, and service building services such as plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
• Perform daily plant checks and flag any faults or unusual issues quickly so repairs can be arranged without unnecessary delay.
• Handle preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical equipment and water reticulation systems to support reliability and operating efficiency.
• Complete planned maintenance work as scheduled in the hotel’s Property Maintenance System (PMS).
• Keep clear, accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, repairs, and equipment servicing.
• Help safeguard hotel assets and ensure the property remains safe, functional, and visually well maintained.

Candidate profile

The ideal person is practical, self-reliant, and takes pride in delivering quality work. You should be comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with others, and be able to adapt to flexible shift arrangements.

Experience and skills

Previous experience maintaining hotel fixtures, fixed plant, and equipment is preferred, along with familiarity with maintenance planning and strategies. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also important.
