Role overview
This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Electrician position based in Adelaide, South Australia. Alongside workshop board-building work, the role focuses on routine and reactive maintenance of electrical equipment and systems so they operate safely and reliably at client sites.
The job involves fault finding, repairs, and preventive maintenance planning to keep downtime to a minimum. You will also install, inspect, test, and maintain wiring and electrical components in line with applicable standards and regulations, record maintenance work accurately, coordinate with engineering and project teams, and assist with energy management and power quality work when needed.
Responsibilities
- Carry out both scheduled and urgent electrical maintenance on equipment and systems.
- Diagnose faults, trace root causes, and complete repairs effectively.
- Build and support workshop boards as part of the role.
- Plan and perform preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and downtime.
- Install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical wiring and components to required standards.
- Keep clear records of maintenance tasks and completed work.
- Work with engineering and project staff to support site and project needs.
- Assist with energy management and power quality initiatives when required.
Requirements
- Strong background in electrical maintenance and general electrical knowledge, especially across industrial and commercial systems.
- High attention to detail, particularly for electrical board-building work.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and carry out maintenance and repair work confidently.
- Experience planning and executing preventive maintenance programs.
- Relevant trade qualification or electrical licence, with proven maintenance electrician experience in industrial or commercial settings.
- Good understanding of safety standards, regulations, lockout/tagout, and risk assessment practices.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documents, and use test equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Strong communication, teamwork, independence, and time-management skills.
- Experience with energy management, power quality systems, or control systems is an advantage.
