We are looking for a compassionate Lunchtime Supervisor to join Redwood Park School, a setting catering specifically to SEMH students. This vital role involves ensuring students' safety and well-being during lunchtimes and supporting them especially in social and emotional areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the smooth operation of lunchtimes, including distributing meals and tidying dining areas.
• Oversee students’ activities in the dining hall, playground, and designated lunchtime zones, maintaining a safe environment.
• Build positive connections with students, promoting social skills and appropriate behaviour.
• Support pupils with special educational needs by aiding emotional regulation and positive social interaction.
• Help students with practical tasks such as opening food packages and cleaning spills.
• Model and encourage positive conduct by providing consistent support.
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of lunchtime spaces, disposing of waste properly.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• Experience working with children, preferably within SEMH or SEN contexts.
• A calm, understanding, and patient demeanor, particularly when assisting children with emotional or behavioural challenges.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both staff and pupils.
• Proactive mindset towards maintaining student safety and welfare.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and ability to respond accurately to concerns.
• Capability to maintain composure in difficult or stressful incidents.

Desirable:

• Prior exposure to educational settings.
• First aid certification or willingness to complete such training.
