Role Overview

As Logistics Manager at Carma, you will architect and develop our transport capability. This role is foundational rather than just coordinating daily tasks. You'll be responsible for creating the systems, standards, and operational rhythm to transform fragmented logistics into an efficient, scalable operation that ensures vehicles move seamlessly, cost-effectively, and reliably across our entire network.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and build the logistics function with clear structure, standards, and operating processes.
• Take full ownership of vehicle movement including inbound, outbound, and inter-site transfers.
• Collaborate closely with Buying, Production, and Delivery teams to align logistics capacity with business needs.
• Plan and oversee daily site schedules optimizing between urgent requirements, fleet usage, and service quality.
• Manage the internal fleet of trucks and drivers to ensure efficiency, regulatory compliance, and readiness.
• Lead and coordinate with external third-party transport providers to improve dependability, responsiveness, and cost-efficiency.
• Use data analytics and dashboards to detect inefficiencies early and lead investigations to resolve root causes of recurring issues.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience setting up logistics processes and systems in dynamic, fast-growing companies.
• More than 5 years working in logistics or fleet operations with solid understanding of routing, scheduling, and transport management.
• Excellent ability to work cross-functionally and align complex logistics functions with wider organizational objectives.
• Data-driven mindset with strong commercial focus on managing cost per unit and maximizing operational efficiency.
• Proactive and hands-on problem solver who drives operational performance without needing close supervision.
• Able to adapt between strategic planning and hands-on execution in fast-moving environments.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and possession of a valid, clean NSW Driver’s Licence are essential.
