Logistics Coordinator - AM Shift

Position Overview

Join Steel & Tube Holdings Ltd as the essential first point of contact for early morning transport operations at the Stonedon Drive Distribution Centre in Auckland. This permanent full-time role operates during early hours (4:00 AM to approximately 12:30 PM) and requires a reliable, well-organized individual to manage site opening and coordinate logistics activities while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Open the distribution centre each morning ensuring all security and safety protocols are observed.
• Assist early-morning drivers with tie-down duties and departures.
• Manage the coordination of outward transport runs efficiently.
• Prepare necessary documentation, track deliveries through E-road, and follow up on Proof of Delivery documents.
• Provide customer service at the front counter during early hours until mid-morning.
• Maintain clear communication and smooth operations linking warehouse, dispatch, drivers, and customers.
• Support quality, health, safety, environment, and training (QHSET) compliance and contribute to continuous improvements in logistics processes.
• Keep accurate records, escalate delivery issues when required, and help improve team productivity in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

• Valid full Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
• Holding an endorsed counterbalance forklift license (2.5T to 5T) is advantageous.
• Experience operating gantry cranes is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in dispatch or logistics coordination roles.
• Strong organizational skills coupled with excellent communication capabilities.
• Physically fit with a proactive approach prioritizing safety.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft AX and proficiency in MS Office is beneficial.
