Role Overview

We are seeking a Labour Analyst to join our Blackpool site, tasked with meticulous handling of workforce data such as attendance and employee movements to support accurate payroll processing. The role encompasses labour cost monitoring, labour reporting, and assisting payroll and HR service delivery aligned with legal standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure precise management of workforce metrics including headcount, full-time equivalents, absence, overtime, agency use, and employee transitions, maintaining data readiness for payroll and integrity.
  • Address daily exceptions in time and attendance for factory teams, collaborating with Payroll, Time & Attendance, and HR departments.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc labour analyses covering hours worked, absences, forecasts against actuals, risk hours, and period performance, identifying trends and issues.
  • Examine labour costs and productivity to aid budgeting, cost management, projection, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Assist in workforce planning including shift management, capacity evaluation, and demand forecasting.
  • Provide accurate labour data reports to production teams to support payroll audit and decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate agency staff timesheet submissions and system accesses for new starters to ensure timely, accurate processing.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Plant Planning, HR, and Finance to communicate procedures, back system upgrades, drive ongoing improvements, and conduct necessary training.
  • Identify and advocate for enhancements in time, attendance, and labour reporting systems to improve efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience managing workforce, labour, payroll, or attendance data, preferably within manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of payroll and attendance workflows.
  • Competent in generating labour reports and conducting data trend and variance analyses.
  • Skilled in contrasting forecasted and actual labour hours to aid in cost control.
  • Experience collaborating with Payroll, HR, Operations, and Planning teams under dynamic conditions.
  • Proficient with HR, payroll, or time management IT systems.
  • Excellent communication abilities with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
