Job Overview
The Key Account Manager is responsible for acquiring and maintaining engagement with single-outlet independent restaurants within a specified city. Serving as the main point of contact, this role involves gaining deep insights into the restaurant's operations and challenges, ultimately fostering partnerships that drive order growth, increased visibility, and enhanced customer engagement. This consultative, in-field position demands adaptability, resourcefulness, and a strong commitment to partner success while developing sales expertise and operational knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a designated geographic area and build meaningful, successful relationships with assigned restaurant partners.
- Conduct extensive fieldwork, including in-person visits to demonstrate products, perform return on investment (ROI) analyses, and illustrate how collaboration benefits both parties.
- Employ consultative selling techniques by assessing restaurant needs through strategic questions about channels, logistics, marketing, and business goals, offering Swiggy's products as tailored solutions.
- Oversee full account lifecycle monthly—pitching, negotiation, activation, and continuous support.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor adoption, diagnose growth challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Take ownership of revenue targets within the territory, monitoring pipeline and conversion metrics independently.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet software to manage daily data and central tracking.
- Conduct market research to stay informed on current restaurant trends, competitive developments, and local market dynamics. Provide feedback from field experience to influence product development.
- Engage in 80 to 90 face-to-face meetings with restaurant partners every month.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, preferably within FMCG, food and beverage, or hospitality industries.
- History of achieving or surpassing sales targets and managing an independent sales pipeline.
- Understanding that the restaurant industry operates around the clock; thus, must be responsible for the growth of the assigned restaurant portfolio.
- Advanced skills in Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables, perform VLOOKUPs, and develop dashboards without assistance.
- Postgraduate degree preferred, especially in marketing or sales.
Work Mandate
Employees must work full-time from their base location in Bangalore.
