Junior Data Scientist - Cryptocurrency and FinTech

About the Role

This opportunity is offered by an affiliated firm seeking a Junior Data Scientist who will contribute remotely to projects within Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, Digital Assets, FinTech, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning domains. The selected candidate will handle analyzing financial and crypto datasets, create predictive models, recognize significant data trends, and develop insights supporting the digital asset ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine datasets related to cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, finance, and transactions.
• Execute data analysis, apply statistical methods, and conduct predictive analytics.
• Develop and assess machine learning algorithms utilizing Python and SQL.
• Detect trends, unusual patterns, anomalies, and provide market insights.
• Assist in crypto market analytics, evaluate risks, and support fraud detection efforts.
• Create interactive visual dashboards using tools like Power BI and Tableau.
• Process and verify large-scale datasets including cleaning and transformation tasks.
• Integrate and manage data from APIs, databases, and live data streams.
• Collaborate effectively with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product teams.
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation of data analysis and modeling outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, or a comparable field.
• Have up to 2 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, Machine Learning, or FinTech, or demonstrate equivalent practical experience through projects.
• Proficient in Python programming and SQL queries.
• Understand machine learning concepts, statistical techniques, predictive modeling, and data visualization practices.
• Familiar with libraries and tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Power BI, Tableau, or analogous technologies.
• Exhibit strong analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Show keen interest in Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, Web3 technologies, Digital Assets, AI, and FinTech sectors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge regarding blockchain or cryptocurrency market dynamics.
• Familiarity with financial and crypto-related datasets.
• Exposure to API usage, cloud computing platforms, or time-series data analysis.
• Active participation on platforms such as GitHub or Kaggle, completion of bootcamps, or completion of personal Data Science initiatives.
• Experience or awareness of Generative AI models or large language models (LLMs).
