Role overview
Meteomatics is a weather and climate data company that helps businesses and research organizations make better decisions with highly accurate forecasts. The team supports clients across sectors such as energy, aviation, agriculture, and environmental services, with a mission to make operations safer and more sustainable.
This role is for an IT Support Specialist / System Administrator joining the infrastructure team to support day-to-day IT operations remotely and assist employees in the Berlin office. The position can be part-time or full-time and runs from 08.2026 to 08.2027, covering one year. It may also involve occasional trips to the main office in Saint Gallen.
What you will do
- Act as the first point of contact for IT issues from Berlin-based employees, including hardware, software, network, and account-related problems.
- Set up, configure, and keep running desktops, laptops, mobile devices, accessories, and business applications.
- Prepare equipment and user access for new hires during the onboarding process.
- Investigate and fix issues across Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
- Track, manage, and close tickets in the IT support system while keeping response times and user satisfaction high.
- Help monitor network equipment and respond to connectivity or performance problems before they escalate.
- Support the upkeep of IT systems, devices, and office infrastructure.
- Work with the infrastructure team to refine support processes, introduce best practices, and strengthen security.
- Keep documentation current, including IT records, asset lists, and knowledge base content.
What the team is looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; students in their final years may also be considered.
- Some experience in IT support, system administration, or another technical support role; internships and student jobs can count as relevant exposure.
- Strong analytical thinking and practical troubleshooting ability.
- Hands-on familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Experience working with desktop and mobile hardware and software.
- Basic understanding of network infrastructure such as routers, switches, Wi‑Fi, and firewalls.
- Comfort using IT ticketing tools and applying standard user-support practices.
- Clear communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
- Ability to work autonomously while remaining an effective team player in an international setting.
- Very good English skills; German knowledge is an advantage.

Additional information
