Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to join our dedicated IT team at the Corby location in Northamptonshire. This position is focused on maintaining our IT infrastructure and delivering exceptional technical support to staff across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for IT support issues through our IT service management (ITSM) platform.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and user account problems promptly.
- Prepare and deploy laptops and desktops utilizing Modern Workplace technologies.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, software, and telecommunication systems.
- Manage Active Directory, including user accounts, permissions, and Group Policy settings.
- Provide support for Microsoft Intune, Defender for Endpoint, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Conduct server upkeep, backup operations, and ensure overall system security.
- Keep IT documentation and standard operating procedures current and accurate.
- Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
- Identify and suggest improvements in IT processes to enhance user experience and efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in roles such as IT Support Engineer, Desktop Support, or Systems Administrator.
- Strong expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender, and Modern Workplace technologies.
- Sound understanding of network fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Experience supporting PCs, servers, printers, and related peripheral devices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to manage workload priorities and thrive within a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment.
Additional Information and Benefits
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Salary up to £31,745 per year.
- 25 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, with an option to purchase up to 5 extra days.
