Investment Consultant

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Investment Consultant who can offer comprehensive investment advice within a portfolio framework. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge across multiple asset classes and global markets, and a proven history of advising clients on personalized investment portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Client Advisers to deliver client-focused, holistic investment guidance.
• Lead portfolio construction and asset allocation by regularly engaging clients with portfolio updates and aligning strategies with Chief Investment Office insights, considering their individual risk and investment preferences.
• Ensure compliance with investment suitability rules before making recommendations, execute trades accurately and promptly, and conduct ongoing monitoring after trade execution.
• Work hand-in-hand with the CIO and investment product teams to provide clients access to UBS’s complete range of investment products and trading services.
• Participate actively in internal sessions to generate product ideas, share market insights, and improve investment solution pitches.
• Support and mentor junior consultants to encourage continuous professional growth and knowledge exchange within the team.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of ten years' experience in portfolio management, investment advisory, sales or trading.
• Expertise in at least one asset class or product category such as Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Structured Products, Derivatives, or Alternatives.
• Demonstrates strong initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work independently in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record in client and adviser presentations with keen awareness of client sensitivities, particularly in Family Offices or Ultra High Net Worth segments.
• Sales and service-focused with excellent communication skills.
• Holds an advanced degree in finance; CFA designation is advantageous.
• Fluent in English and business-level Mandarin; additional languages are beneficial.
• Capacity to thrive under pressure given the complex and high-volume nature of the role, with persistence and motivation being critical.
• Curious and open to leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance workflow efficiency while adhering to policies, risk standards, and ethical guidelines.
