About the Role
Join Macquarie Group's Office of the CIO as an Investment Analyst specializing in portfolio construction and asset allocation. You will play a vital role in shaping investment strategies for the Private Bank’s portfolios managing assets worth $60 billion. As part of the Investment Strategy team, your responsibilities will span research, detailed portfolio analysis, and delivering investment insights across diverse multi-asset portfolios to ensure strong client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
You will spearhead the development of strategic and tactical asset allocation views for the Private Bank across various asset classes including equities, fixed income, alternatives, currencies, and emerging investment categories. Your work involves conducting in-depth research on macroeconomic trends, market movements, valuations, and portfolio risks, directly influencing core portfolio construction and investment strategies. Engaging collaboratively with teams, you will translate complex financial data into clear and actionable intelligence for client communications.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, portfolio analytics, or market research roles. They will hold a tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline. A demonstrated passion for investment markets and asset allocation, strong analytical skills to interpret market data and articulate investment implications, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. The candidate should be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic environment. Proficiency in Excel and data analysis is required; experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Python, or portfolio analytics platforms is advantageous. Progress towards or completion of postgraduate investment credentials, such as the CFA designation, is highly valued.
