Role Overview
Wave Capital is seeking a proficient Investment Analyst / Associate to manage all stages of investment opportunity execution. This role demands hands-on involvement, exceptional independent judgment, advanced financial modeling expertise, and the ability to create professional-grade Investment Memorandums with little oversight. The selected individual will collaborate directly with senior leadership and gain exposure to active transactions involving institutional investors, lenders, and development finance institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently construct, assess, and stress-test project finance and cash flow models, including IRR, DSCR, sensitivity analyses, and downside scenarios.
- Analyze and structure investments spanning energy, industrials, housing, mining, and infrastructure sectors.
- Support transaction structuring using equity, debt, and hybrid financing instruments.
- Prepare detailed, institutional-level Investment Memorandums, teasers, and presentations for investors.
- Conduct financial and commercial analyses to support internal Investment Committees and external stakeholders.
- Create clear and concise investment narratives translating complex projects into decision-ready formats.
- Coordinate and assist with financial, commercial, and technical due diligence processes.
- Liaise with external advisors such as legal, technical, and tax consultants along with internal teams.
- Oversee key workstreams from deal origination through to financial close.
- Monitor portfolio performance and update financial forecasts accordingly.
- Assist with valuation reviews and periodic portfolio reporting tasks.
Candidate Profile
This position is best suited for individuals who can work autonomously without the need for constant supervision. Candidates must demonstrate ownership of assignments and adaptability in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Requirements
- Between 1 and 5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, project finance, infrastructure advisory, or Big 4 transaction services.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel financial modeling techniques related to project finance, DCF, IRR, DSCR, and various sensitivity analyses.
- Excellent written communication skills with a focus on preparing Investment Memorandums.
- Comfort working independently in a dynamic and entrepreneurial setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in infrastructure, renewable energy, or emerging markets.
- Exposure to institutional investors, lenders, or development finance institutions.
- Possession of professional certification such as CFA, CPA, or an equivalent designation.
