About the Company

Moniepoint is a fintech business focused on helping Africa’s real economy run better. It builds a financial ecosystem for businesses and offers tools for payments, banking, credit, and day-to-day business management.

The company describes itself as customer-centric and product-driven, using technology, artificial intelligence, and data-backed practices to support business customers.

Role Overview

This opening is for an Inventory Support Officer based in the South West region, with two possible focus areas: POS terminals or spare parts. In both tracks, the role is responsible for accurate inventory control, strong custody management, traceability, reconciliations, and timely updates in the inventory management system (IMS).

Inventory Support Officer – POS Terminals

The terminals-focused officer acts as the custodian of POS devices moving through the repair workflow. The job covers the full movement of faulty devices from receipt to repair, QA, and dispatch, while ensuring physical stock always matches the system record.

Key Duties – POS Terminals

  • Accept returned or faulty terminals from state offices and confirm each serial number against the recall waybill before entry into IMS.
  • Record every received device in the inventory system within 24 hours of arrival.
  • Separate damaged devices or items with missing serial numbers and immediately raise a discrepancy report.
  • Allocate faulty units to technicians each day and mark them as in repair in IMS.
  • Track each terminal through the repair stages: assessment, in repair, awaiting QA, QA cleared, and dispatch holding.
  • Enforce the service timelines for assignment and dispatch readiness, including the 24–72 hour SLA.
  • Update QA-cleared terminals in IMS within 4 hours and move them to the awaiting dispatch status.
  • Return failed QA devices to the repair queue or classify them as beyond economic repair, supported by a written justification.
  • Tag and isolate beyond economic repair devices in the scrap or disposal area.
  • Prepare dispatch lists and waybills for refurbished or approved devices and secure sign-off from the Repair Centre Manager and Cluster Lead before release.
  • Scan devices serial-by-serial during loading and change the system status to in transit outbound.
  • Obtain receipt confirmation from the destination SIO and close the dispatch record in IMS.
  • Carry out daily physical counts and reconcile them with system balances.
  • Escalate stock variances to the Lead, Inventory Support on the same business day.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual wall-to-wall counts as required by management.
  • Keep stock neatly arranged in clearly marked zones for faulty, under-repair, refurbished/OK, and BER/scrap items.
  • Follow the POS Inventory Control SOP and maintain audit readiness, safety, and environmental compliance at all times.

Inventory Support Officer – Spare Parts

The spare-parts-focused officer handles the full life cycle of repair consumables such as batteries, screens, cables, and accessories. The role ensures technicians receive the right items on time while keeping usage traceable and waste under control.

Key Duties – Spare Parts

  • Receive incoming spare parts shipments and verify them at batch or serial level against the delivery note before posting them into IMS.
  • Store items in labelled bins arranged by part type and device compatibility.
  • Protect stock from moisture, dust, and extreme temperatures by maintaining proper storage conditions.
  • Issue parts only against an approved job card raised by a technician and validated by the Repair Centre Manager.
  • Update inventory records immediately after every issue, with no unrecorded movement.
  • Process the return of unused or incorrect parts and reflect the changes in IMS.
  • Reconcile physical stock with system records every week.
  • Identify slow-moving, expired, or obsolete items and escalate them to the Lead, Inventory Support.
  • Raise replenishment requests when stock reaches the defined reorder level.
  • Prepare weekly reports on consumption and stock position for the Lead, Inventory Support.
  • Keep a complete issue log linking each part to the relevant job card and technician.
  • Track part failure trends to support procurement decisions and OEM feedback.
  • Maintain clean, well-zoned, and properly labelled storage areas.
  • Apply segregation of duties and never self-authorise an issue.
  • Assist with planned and spot inventory counts.

Requirements

  • OND in a related field is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory operations is needed.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail and strong accuracy.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory systems and workflow applications.
  • Ability to manage large item volumes.
  • Good organization and record-keeping ability.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Capability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Eligibility

Candidates with an OND qualification in a relevant discipline and at least two years of inventory operations experience can apply. The role is based onsite in Nigeria’s South West region.

Additional Information

This position requires close control of stock movement, strong traceability, and strict compliance with internal SOPs. The work also involves regular reconciliations, reporting, and coordination with repair centre, regional, and warehouse stakeholders.

Reporting structure for the role includes a functional line to the Lead, Inventory Support (Regional), an operational line to the Repair Centre Manager, and a dotted line to the Regional Inventory & Warehouse Manager.
