Role Overview
The Interior Technician will handle maintenance and refurbishment tasks on sophisticated private aircraft interiors, including installing and removing carpeting, insulation, soundproofing, and fabric components. Other duties involve parts replacement, basic electrical installations, modifications, and general mechanical applications related to aircraft interiors. Responsibilities will vary based on assignments from the Interior Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance and minor modifications on aircraft interior systems with minimal supervision.
- Complete daily turnover sheets, manage work orders, and update weight and balance data accurately.
- Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and the workshop environment.
- Utilize basic computer skills for electronic training modules, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Ensure cleanliness of the workspace and maintain proper communication in English.
- Work independently when required and assist with additional job-related tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license is preferred but not mandatory; a passport is ideal.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs, with routine walking, bending, squatting, and standing for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and capacity to work in restricted spaces, including climbing ladders and stairs.
- Understanding and application of regulations such as OSHA and Hazmat.
- Strong organizational skills and capability to read reports and blueprints.
- Reliable transportation to commute consistently with punctuality, including willingness for overtime and weekend work.
- Commitment to following FAA guidelines, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Effective interpersonal skills to work respectfully with others and maintain customer-focused attitudes.
Work Environment and Tools
- Primary work conducted in hangar or shop settings, with occasional outdoor ramp duties.
- Use of personal hand tools plus power equipment such as sanders, saws, drills, sheet metal cutters, glue guns, metal benders, and powered carts.
- Operation of spray booth equipment and related devices.
Additional Information
This role reports to the Interior Team Leader and management, with potential to supervise other technicians as needed, while also operating independently when necessary.
