Position Summary

Under the supervision of the ICT Manager, the Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for operational cybersecurity tasks to support the organization's security framework. This includes implementing and maintaining security policies ensuring alignment with provincial cybersecurity standards, monitoring security events, vulnerability assessments, and managing security controls. The role is essential in safeguarding organizational technology, data, and users from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security solutions such as SIEM, endpoint detection and response, email security, and firewall logs for potential threats.
  • Conduct investigations, triage, and respond to cyber incidents per established response protocols.
  • Perform regular vulnerability scans, risk assessments, and security evaluations of systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with Network Administrators and ICT Analysts to plan and implement security enhancements and verify their effectiveness.
  • Create and deliver cybersecurity awareness programs including training materials, tip sheets, and security bulletins.
  • Manage monthly phishing simulation campaigns to enhance employee awareness and report findings to ICT leadership, hospital management, and oversight committees.
  • Assist with cybersecurity audits and compliance reviews through documentation and evidence collection.
  • Communicate risks, trends, and resolution statuses to management and governance bodies.
  • Support the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and procedures across the ICT department.
  • Provide security consultation to ICT team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging cyber threats, technologies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field; candidates with equivalent education and experience will also be considered.
  • At least five years of professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related IT fields.
  • Familiarity with hospital or healthcare information systems preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting hospital information system projects is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills.
