HVAC Technician - Aftermarket

About the Role

This position entails working under the supervision of the Field Line Manager as a member of the HVAC Aftermarket team in Qatar. The main duties include installing, servicing, repairing, and conducting preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems, including reciprocating and screw compressors, condensing units, evaporators, valves, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily service and maintenance aligned with company best practices.
• Execute maintenance, servicing, and retrofit projects on comfort and energy efficiency HVAC systems in large projects such as hospitals, retail, and commercial buildings.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure HVAC installations are completed.
• Plan, schedule, monitor, and supervise service delivery for consistency.
• Attend to critical infrastructure sites to guarantee client satisfaction.
• Identify and implement end-of-life product replacements and upgrades.
• Seek business development opportunities and improve service delivery.

Tasks and Execution

The technician will conduct site surveys, prepare detailed dilapidation reports, inspect refrigeration components, and suggest system upgrades or replacements. Regularly engaging with customers to understand their needs and providing expert HVAC service and repairs is essential. Strong organizational skills will be used to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Three to five years of hands-on experience servicing and overhauling HVAC systems, particularly air-cooled chillers and compressor systems including reciprocating and screw compressors.
• Strong technical expertise in HVAC components such as chillers, brazing, vacuum processes, and pressure testing.
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC electrical single-line diagrams.
• Competency in preparing reports and concise communication.
• Fluency in English language skills.
• Valid driving license.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with servicing and maintenance of York, Carrier, Daikin, or Trane systems.
• Two to three years of HVAC servicing experience within the GCC region.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical systems and variable speed drives.
