Role Overview
This role supports the implementation of HR initiatives aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. It involves providing expert advice to employees and managers on HR policies, employment law, and employee relations matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer timely and precise guidance to employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Support managers in employment law compliance, handling grievances, disciplinary actions, absence management, and performance oversight.
- Engage proactively with managers to ensure probation evaluations are conducted appropriately.
- Support employees and managers across various business units and legal jurisdictions.
- Participate in formal meetings, including note-taking when necessary.
- Manage formal HR processes and related documentation.
- Coach managers on HR tools and provide advice to enhance team management capabilities.
- Organize and deliver annual HR workshops on employment-related topics for management.
- Update and create HR policies and procedures reflecting legislative requirements and best practices.
- Stay informed about the latest HR legislation, initiatives, and industry standards.
- Contribute to HR projects and assist HR management with key initiatives.
- Serve as a contact point for HR inquiries from employees and managers.
- Assist HR administration with email management, new hire paperwork, record updates, and offboarding processes.
- Address escalated administration issues and forward unresolved matters to HR Business Partners promptly.
- Attend meetings as requested by HR leadership.
- Prepare HR reports for management and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with other internal teams including Health and Safety, Quality, Finance, and others for smooth HR operations.
- Establish effective connections with relevant external organizations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Adaptability to rapidly changing priorities.
- HR qualification mandatory; CIPD credential is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Email, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Supportive and flexible demeanor to assist team members effectively.
- Willingness to travel to various office locations as necessary.
