Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Lead to take ownership of all facets of Human Resources including People Operations, Compensation, Benefits, Compliance, and Employee Relations. This position is ideal for a dynamic HR professional who thrives in fast-paced biotech environments and enjoys creating scalable HR systems while acting as a trusted resource for employees and leadership alike. This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff and is fully remote within the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all onboarding and offboarding procedures to deliver a smooth employee lifecycle experience.
- Act as the main contact for employee inquiries and support needs.
- Lead compensation management including planning, market benchmarking, and analyses.
- Administer equity allocation and planning processes.
- Coordinate annual compensation review cycles and manage salary adjustments.
- Manage employee benefits programs and vendor partnerships.
- Direct the 401(k) program including establishment and leadership of a 401(k) committee.
- Serve as the HRIS system administrator and manage other related personnel systems.
- Prepare and coordinate payroll activities with external providers.
- Maintain comprehensive employee records ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Administer leaves such as parental, medical, and other protected leaves.
- Lead the annual employee performance review process.
- Drive learning, development, and leadership growth initiatives.
- Manage company-wide communication and employee engagement programs.
- Organize and facilitate company events such as All Hands meetings, team lunches, and social gatherings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of advancing HR experience within biotech, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Proven experience managing compensation, equity plans, benchmarking, and HRIS systems.
- Demonstrated capability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial biotech environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in venture-backed or rapidly expanding biotech companies.
- Familiarity with Radford compensation surveys and benchmarking.
- Experience collaborating with Boards of Directors and Compensation Committees.
- HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Knowledge in managing immigration processes and employment-related legal matters.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $130,000 to $160,000, adjusted according to experience, skills, and location.
