Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Band 3 Housekeeper to join the supportive and motivated team at Ffrancon Ward. This key role involves ensuring smooth ward operations and upholding exceptional standards of patient care.
The Housekeeper will take on various non-clinical responsibilities, such as managing ward inventory, conducting routine audits, and assisting with maintaining compliance to ward protocols. The ideal candidate will be proactive, well-organised, capable of working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team, possessing strong communication and IT skills. Fluency in Welsh is preferred but not mandatory, as applications from both Welsh and English speakers are welcome.
Main Responsibilities
- Greet and guide patients, their families, and visitors, coordinating with the multidisciplinary team where needed.
- Assist the Nurse in Charge by managing the ward's non-clinical facets, ensuring visitors and relatives are treated promptly, sensitively, and empathetically.
- Provide clear and professional information to patients and visitors.
- Handle messages with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Address minor issues or complaints, taking suitable actions and escalating to senior staff when necessary.
- Maintain awareness of food hygiene, infection prevention and control, waste management, and ensure adherence to standards at ward level.
- Support the Ward Manager in managing ward accreditation and monitoring compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Assist in reviewing and updating local policies and procedures as needed.
- Contribute to efficiently ordering, stocking, and monitoring ward supplies and equipment, promoting cost-effective resource use.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised ward environment to support exemplary patient care and experience.
