Health Care Assistant

Role Overview

This position supports nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary care team in meeting residents’ and families’ everyday non-clinical needs.

Patient Care Support

• Provide help with routine daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assist patients with movement, transfers, and safe handling practices.
• Support leisure activities, social interaction, and off-site outings.
• Keep patient areas tidy, secure, and fully supplied.
• Work according to care plans and under the direction of nurses or therapists.

Communication and Team Collaboration

• Share information clearly with patients, families, and clinical teams.
• Work alongside different healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Help maintain a positive team culture and guide junior colleagues where needed.

Professional Growth

• Take part in training sessions, self-learning, and performance discussions.
• Keep knowledge, practical ability, and professional conduct up to date.

Quality Improvement and Service Support

• Support audits, service enhancement activities, and quality projects.
• Assist with stock management, administrative work, and delivering a strong patient experience.

Safety, Compliance, and Ethics

• Follow infection prevention, occupational health and safety, and emergency procedures.
• Protect patient privacy and comply with organisational policies and UAE regulations.
• Report incidents promptly and help maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

Equality and Patient-Focused Care

• Encourage equality, diversity, and respectful treatment for all patients.
• Deliver care with a strong focus on service quality and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Certified Nursing Aide or Caregiver certification is required.
• A Diploma in Nursing is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
• At least 1 year of healthcare experience is needed, ideally in long-term care.
• Strong English communication skills are required; Arabic is an advantage.
