Role Overview
TasNetworks is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to join their Health & Safety team, playing a critical role in the North West Transmission Development project, the company's largest to date. This permanent full-time position is based in Devonport, Tasmania, with a starting salary of $140,000, negotiable upon final selection.
Key Responsibilities
The specialist will collaborate closely with major contractors and operational units, offering expert advice and support on all health and safety issues. Responsibilities include setting standards for incident investigations, safety communications, and complex project management, while bringing innovative and contemporary approaches to the organization's health and safety functions.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant resides preferably in North West Tasmania and holds tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety. They must have extensive experience within high-risk industries, strong contract management skills, and a deep understanding of safety legislation, systems, and reporting. Proficiency in inspecting operational sites, conducting incident investigations, and providing comprehensive written feedback are essential. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, along with a commitment to continuous process improvement, are highly valued.
