About the Role
This leadership position involves shaping the operational framework of a rapidly expanding organization entering a significant growth phase. As a strategic and operational collaborator to executive leadership, you will tackle complex business challenges and drive significant improvements. You will lead a high-performing Strategy & Operations team and collaborate closely with teams across Operations, Product, Finance, Client Success, and other areas. This role suits an experienced operator comfortable with ambiguity who turns intricate problems into clear, actionable strategies. You will influence company-wide decisions, enhance critical processes, and help establish infrastructure that supports sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Strategy & Operations team by setting focus areas, operational routines, quality expectations, and a culture based on accountability.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify, structure, and solve the organization's most challenging operational and strategic issues.
- Create data-driven analyses, financial models, and executive-level recommendations to guide major business choices.
- Define operating strategies, prioritize initiatives, and ensure discussions translate into measurable actions.
- Identify operational bottlenecks in service delivery, network management, routing, and related domains, and develop scalable solutions.
- Enhance processes, workflows, tools, management systems, and operational rigor to improve efficiency and performance.
- Convert ambiguous problems into well-structured plans including responsible parties, metrics, timelines, and expected results.
- Increase profitability by optimizing resource allocation, operational models, utilization strategies, and business workflows.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Client Success, and Growth teams to transform business opportunities into operational enhancements.
- Act as a link between operational teams and Product/Engineering by translating frontline challenges into technology-related solutions.
- Assess the effectiveness of new tools and solutions to confirm they streamline workflows, reduce obstacles, and add business value.
- Maintain hands-on involvement when necessary by conducting analyses, reviewing data, creating recommendations, and supporting key initiatives directly.
Candidate Requirements
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in strategy, operations, consulting, business operations, or related areas.
- Strong consulting experience, preferably from top-tier strategy consulting firms.
- Proven leadership of Strategy & Operations, BizOps, or Strategic Operations teams in fast-growing organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and empower high-performing teams with autonomy and accountability.
- High-level analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and capability for data-driven decision-making.
- Experience leveraging data to resolve business challenges and support executive choices.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across executives, peers, and frontline personnel.
- Comfort operating effectively in ambiguous situations requiring definition and structured problem solving.
- Balanced player-coach approach, leading teams while personally executing critical analysis or operations tasks.
- Experience working closely with C-suite or senior executive teams.
- Preferred MBA from a top business school or equivalent advanced qualification.
- Bonus experience in industries such as healthcare, logistics, transportation, marketplaces, or regulated sectors.
- Preferred advanced data skills using SQL, Python, R, or similar tools.
