About the Role
We are recruiting a Head of Operations for a partner company based in Ireland, specializing in a global, fully remote financial services organization. This senior leadership role focuses on establishing and expanding the operational framework to support growth and ensure excellence in service delivery.
The role includes managing key operational functions such as payments, reconciliations, business operations, and digital asset settlements. The successful candidate will lead multifunctional teams to enhance efficiency, implement compliance measures, and innovate with automation and risk mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a robust operations strategy aligned with overarching business goals, emphasizing scalability, compliance, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Supervise major operational segments including payments, treasury, card operations, and other back-office functions.
- Maintain responsibility for operational metrics, control standards, and drive continuous performance improvements.
- Promote process improvements through automation, operational transformation, and the use of technology, data, and AI.
- Develop standardized procedures to improve operational consistency, visibility, and efficiency.
- Build and nurture a high-performance operations team fostering accountability, collaboration, and ongoing professional development.
- Collaborate closely with compliance, risk management, and financial crime prevention teams to uphold regulatory adherence.
- Implement and oversee operational risk frameworks including monitoring, reporting, and audit preparedness.
- Work together with cross-departmental leadership in technology, data, HR, and client services to ensure operational alignment.
- Manage digital asset settlement processes end-to-end, including reconciliations, custody, wallet management, and crypto-fiat operations.
Candidate Profile
- Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations within banking, fintech, financial services, or wealth management sectors.
- Proven track record in managing and scaling diverse operational units such as payments, treasury, and settlements.
- Strong background in process enhancements, operational transformation, and the creation of scalable workflows.
- Deep knowledge of financial regulations, compliance standards, anti-money laundering protocols, and fraud prevention.
- Experience leading diverse teams and building a high-performing operations culture.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities including communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical problem-solving.
- A strategic approach to turning business objectives into actionable operational initiatives.
- Experience with cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital asset operations is highly advantageous.
- Ability to excel in a remote global environment requiring autonomy and effective collaboration.
