Overview
The Argus Group, a rapidly expanding New Zealand-based advanced manufacturing organization, seeks a Head of Digital & Technology to oversee and drive the digital and technological direction of the company. This permanent leadership role is centered in Christchurch and offers a unique opportunity to design and implement the digital transformation roadmap for a multi-entity business focused on industrial heating, advanced cable and harness assemblies, and contract manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute the overall technology strategy, aligning closely with the broader business objectives and growth ambitions.
- Collaborate with various business units to enhance current systems and identify new technology solutions that bolster expansion.
- Oversee governance frameworks with a strong emphasis on improving cybersecurity standards and protocols.
- Promote practical and secure adoption of emerging technologies throughout the company.
- Manage the technology budget effectively to ensure cost efficiencies.
- Lead and develop a dedicated internal IT team, supplemented by external vendor partnerships.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven technology leadership background within manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex SME settings.
- Demonstrated success in building and executing digital capabilities rather than merely maintaining existing processes.
- Strong cybersecurity expertise, including familiarity with frameworks like CIS, Essential 8, and data protection controls.
- Experience in ERP implementation and integration, with preference given to NetSuite knowledge.
- Competence in managing vendors and managed service providers effectively.
- Commercial awareness combined with a results-driven approach and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proactive interest and experience in adopting cutting-edge technologies such as automation and AI.
- Ability to engage with both technical teams and executive leadership with credibility.
- Tertiary qualifications related to IT, Engineering, or Business are desired; certifications such as CISM, CISSP, ITIL, or PMP are beneficial.
Additional Information
Applicants must either reside in Christchurch or be open to relocating. A valid New Zealand residency or work visa is required.
