About the Role
Join a distinguished African banking group with over a century of heritage, delivering regional and international expertise combined with a local presence. This leadership role involves overseeing the Business and Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Coverage functions at both Ghanaian and regional levels. The position centers on client acquisition, retention, optimizing wallet share, driving market growth, and spearheading enterprise development and transformation within the West Africa corridor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sales and service performance of the CIB Coverage teams regionally and nationally, serving as the senior representative of the function in the area.
- Develop and execute comprehensive country and regional CIB Coverage strategies aligned to Pan-African sector and product leadership.
- Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with key CIB clients, including CEOs of prominent corporates and public sector decision-makers.
- Monitor business performance using scorecards, diagnose causes of underperformance, and collaborate on remediation across stakeholders.
- Elevate customer experience by enhancing the value proposition, engagement methods, and service delivery, while promptly addressing service failures.
- Steer the workforce agenda by fostering a culture aligned to aspirational colleague experiences, ensuring sufficient resourcing, and embedding critical systems such as Salesforce and MyMI.
- Manage operational and business risks proactively, maintaining robust control environments that balance compliance with growth ambitions.
- Expand the regional corporate portfolio by devising growth strategies, identifying new markets within West Africa, and coordinating execution in semi and non-presence countries.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience within Financial Services, including at least 5 years in senior management roles along with 5 years dedicated to Corporate and Investment Banking.
- At least 5 years of experience in a regional corporate coverage capacity.
- Professional accreditations such as ACIB, CFA, CIMA, or equivalents.
