Role Overview

The Group Finance Business Partner will be instrumental in guiding strategic decisions across Gallagher's worldwide operations. This position includes leading a sub-team within Group Finance, enhancing capabilities, and managing the Group’s treasury forecasting and global insurance portfolio.

Reporting to the CFO, the role involves overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategies, delivering enterprise-wide performance insights, and working collaboratively with Finance Leadership, Business Unit heads, and finance teams to foster commercial rigor and profitable growth. The person will spearhead executive and Board reporting, support investment governance, and promote a culture of accountability and high performance across the organisation.

Additionally, the role will drive the advancement of analytics, AI-enabled decision support, and modern finance technologies to elevate forecasting accuracy and decision-making quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Group budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Lead and develop a finance sub-team, focusing on capability enhancement and succession planning.
  • Provide comprehensive financial and operational performance insights across the enterprise to aid decision-making.
  • Conduct scenario modeling, analyze business performance, and make forward-looking recommendations.
  • Coordinate executive and Board reporting including analysis of performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support investment governance through business case evaluations, capital prioritisation, and post-investment reviews.
  • Oversee Group cash flow forecasting (using Adaptive) and consolidated foreign exchange exposure forecasting, collaborating with the Group Financial Controller.
  • Manage financial oversight of the Group’s global insurance portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Business Units and finance teams to challenge assumptions and improve performance.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Champion the integration of analytics, artificial intelligence insights, and modern finance tools to enhance decision-making and efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a commercially savvy finance leader with a proven track record in business partnering, performance management, budgeting, and forecasting within complex organizations. The individual should excel in strategic and operational finance, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving improved outcomes through data-driven insights and commercial advocacy.

Curiosity and enthusiasm for leveraging AI, analytics, and emerging technologies in finance are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related fields.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) certified.
  • Demonstrated experience in finance business partnering and commercial finance roles.
  • Strong experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Proven leadership capabilities including coaching and mentoring finance teams.
  • Understanding of treasury forecasting concepts such as foreign exchange exposure and cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience supporting strategic decision-making via financial analysis and business insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a diverse network.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and communication skills.
