This position is for a GIS Developer based in Singapore. The role centers on building and supporting geospatial applications and solutions with strong practical experience across leading GIS platforms and related technologies.
Core technical background
- You should have solid, hands-on experience with GIS development tools and platforms such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, QGIS, or similar systems.
- Java backend development experience is required, along with the native language used for the ArcGIS .NET framework.
- Additional technical strength in Python and geospatial libraries and tools such as ArcPy, GeoPandas, Rasterio, Shapely, and GDAL/OGR is expected.
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, and REST-based geospatial APIs will be valuable in this role.
Web GIS development
- The job involves building web-based GIS applications using tools and frameworks such as ArcGIS API for JavaScript, Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapbox GL JS, React, Angular, or comparable front-end technologies.
Geospatial data and concepts
- A strong working knowledge of geospatial data formats is important, including Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, GPKG, CAD, LAS/LAZ, NetCDF, raster imagery, and spatial database formats.
- You should also understand core spatial concepts such as projections, coordinate reference systems, topology, geocoding, routing, spatial indexing, and map tile services.
Data engineering and platform skills
- The role also calls for experience in geospatial ETL, data conversion and transformation, geodatabase architecture, spatial query tuning, and automated data-processing workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud geospatial solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is considered an advantage.
