Overview
Join GMC Utilities Group as a General Operative based in Cork, where you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering construction projects safely and efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to grow professionally within the utilities and civil construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general support to ensure safe execution of assigned project tasks.
- Carry out all duties following supervisor instructions, adhering strictly to company and project safety protocols.
- Maintain a consistent safety-first mindset during all operations.
- Assist skilled trade workers with their tasks as needed.
- Prepare and maintain the worksite under supervisory guidance.
- Maintain site cleanliness and orderliness through general housekeeping duties.
- Follow work schedules as directed by supervisors.
- Obtain necessary tools and materials to aid trade personnel during activities.
- Address minor issues within your capability that may impede task completion.
- Actively seek additional assignments when workload permits.
- Comply with company policies, standard practices, and procedures at all times.
- Participate in regular Toolbox Talks and contribute to emergency response procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a full and clean driving license is mandatory.
- Manual handling experience is advantageous; training may be offered.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Capable of performing effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Good time management skills to meet daily targets.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
- Integrity and respect for confidentiality are essential.
