Role Overview
The General Helper position is based out of a premium Dexterra camp facility, operating on a rotating schedule of two weeks on and two weeks off, with each workday lasting 11 hours. Transportation to the site is provided from designated pickup locations. This role supports kitchen operations, including cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas, utensils, equipment, pots, and dishes. The current posting relates to upcoming opportunities at the Moosonee, ON project.
Key Duties
- Perform washing and scrubbing to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and dining spaces.
- Clean floors and tables within kitchen and dining areas.
- Clean refrigerators, ovens, and other kitchen appliances thoroughly.
- Handle washing of pots, dishes, glasses, and cups after each meal and as needed.
- Conduct deep cleaning activities when required.
- Restock and rotate food items including desserts, sandwiches, beverages, and condiments.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing supplies and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

Candidate Profile
- At least six months of experience in kitchen or catering within the food service industry, hospitality, or remote lodge environments.
- Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Possession of FoodSafe Level I certification; SafeCheck Advanced Food Safety or HACCP certification is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and plan work schedules effectively.
- Capable of achieving a minimum score of 80% on the mandatory Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) test.
