Makera is a dynamic gaming and digital entertainment company with a user base exceeding 1 million monthly active users, primarily targeting Gen Z and Gen Alpha across MENA and international markets. Our main focus lies in developing and scaling games within the User Generated Content (UGC) ecosystem, emphasizing swift development cycles, vibrant communities, frequent updates, and continuous experimentation.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Game Producer to take full ownership of games within our UGC portfolio. This role entails managing the entire game lifecycle from concept, production planning, to launch, ongoing LiveOps, and performance optimization. You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, development, art, QA, community, and monetization teams to deliver high-quality games on schedule and ensure their continual improvement post-launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of game production lifecycle from concept to launch and continuous LiveOps management.
- Establish production plans, milestones, priorities, and release schedules aligned with gameplay, retention, monetization, content, and growth targets.
- Translate game concepts and objectives into detailed tasks and roadmaps while managing multidisciplinary teams comprising developers, designers, artists, QA, and more.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, escalate issues timely, and maintain accurate production documentation and boards.
- Collaborate with designers and leadership on gameplay mechanics, progression systems, economy, and content strategies, ensuring feature alignment with player experience and business goals.
- Plan and coordinate regular game updates, seasonal content drops, events, and comprehensive LiveOps activities.
- Engage with community teams to gather player feedback and usage data, leveraging these insights to drive impactful game improvements.
- Continuously track key performance metrics such as player engagement, retention, monetization, and conversion to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Ensure all features undergo rigorous QA with clear acceptance criteria before release, maintaining high quality standards and expedient handling of post-launch issues.
Candidate Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in game production, game development, product management, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven ability to manage games or digital products through various development stages and familiarity with game development pipelines.
- Demonstrated skills coordinating cross-functional teams including development, design, art, and QA.
- Strong organizational and project management skills capable of translating abstract ideas into clear, actionable plans.
- Deep understanding of player dynamics, live game operations, and ability to prioritize based on impact.
- Proven capability to juggle multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent English communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Background in UGC, live-service, multiplayer, and free-to-play game environments.
- Experience with game economies, progression systems, LiveOps, seasonal content, communities, analytics, and monetization models.
- Exposure to startup game studios and managing games with active player communities is a plus.
- While programming is not required, a sound understanding of game development processes to communicate effectively with technical teams is necessary.
Core Attributes
- Ownership: Driven to push game projects forward and ensure timely updates.
- Delivery Focused: Skilled at balancing quality, scope, and deadlines to ship efficiently.
- Game Insight: Confident discussing game systems including progression, economy, retention, gameplay loops, and monetization.
- Highly Organized: Ensures team clarity on tasks, purpose, and timelines.
- Problem Solver: Proactively removes obstacles hindering production progress.
- Player-Centric: Values community feedback while maintaining strategic product direction.
- Strategic Thinker: Plans beyond launch to support LiveOps, updates, retention, and growth.
