Job description
Role Overview
This opportunity is for a trusted Household Manager to support a busy family with four children aged 1, 3, 6, and 8 years. The role integrates childcare assistance, household management, and routine operations within a lively, homeschooling household. Responsibilities include maintaining daily household order, supporting children's activities, managing inventory and simple food preparation, ensuring readiness for outings, handling mail and packages, travel assistance, and effective communication within a structured but flexible environment.
Work Environment and Expectations
The family values a dynamic yet organized home without rigid routines. Children are homeschooled and present throughout the day, requiring flexibility and multitasking ability to balance household tasks and active supervision. The Household Manager must align with the family’s parenting approach and operate discreetly, efficiently, and with service-oriented communication. Hands-on involvement with laundry, resets, errands, food prep, and household upkeep is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily household checklists during assigned shifts, ensuring all areas including kitchen, living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, homeschool spaces, laundry, and guest rooms meet reset standards.
- Manage laundry care according to specific household guidelines, including stain treatment and appropriate drying procedures.
- Maintain organized and stocked inventories, process mail/packages as needed, and support vendor coordination under approved guidelines.
- Provide warm, attentive childcare supporting parents’ routines without imposing external discipline philosophies; ensure safety during homeschooling, naps, meals, and transitions.
- Handle basic food/snack prep, outdoor fridge upkeep, car and diaper bag readiness, and pet care following daily procedures.
- Assist with travel packing and readiness according to household plans.
- Utilize ChatGPT and documented procedures as tools to address operational questions, draft communications, and maintain smooth household functions, while refraining from AI use in safety or emergency decisions.
Required Qualifications and Traits
- Minimum three years of paid private nanny experience, preferably serving Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) families.
- Proven willingness to perform household duties without reservation.
- Comfort with the presence of children during household tasks and ability to manage interruptions calmly.
- Valid driver’s license with clean record; eligible to be added to insurance.
- Tech-savvy and open to using AI tools as part of household management.
- Strong discretion and adherence to confidentiality agreements.
- Current or soon-to-be obtained infant/child CPR and First Aid certifications (within 90 days of hire).
- Warm yet professional demeanor, coachable with a service mindset, able to work within a conservative Christian household culture.
Schedule and Relocation Notes
Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, focusing on afternoon and evening household operations, including dinner reset and bedtime support. The family requires candidates who can start quickly, with those relocating expected to travel for a trial soon and plan to commence full-time by October 10.
Hiring Process
- Resume screening and initial interview.
- Detailed interview assessing qualifications and schedule compatibility.
- Reference, background, and driving record checks.
- Final interviews with family principals.
- Paid trial period prior to official offer.
Success Indicators in First 90 Days
- Reliable completion of assigned checklist tasks.
- Household maintained as ready and welcoming without feeling rigid.
- Children are safely and warmly supervised while household duties proceed.
- Reduced unnecessary queries and efficient loop closures.
- Well-functioning systems for inventory, laundry, car/diaper bag, and food readiness.
- Appropriate and confident use of procedures and AI tools; prompt escalation of high-risk issues.
Application Instructions
Applicants must submit a resume and cover letter addressing prior private nanny duties, household responsibilities, schedule availability, adaptability to a homeschool environment, and experience with technology such as ChatGPT. Only candidates with verified paid private nanny experience will be considered.
